Winter Frost Collection for Sasha, Gregor and toddlers.

Some of the styles I have made before in different colour combinations but several such as the two toddler outfits, the knitted jacket with the belt, the waistcoat, the striped shetland wool jacket and v-neck blue cardigan with drop waist dress are new to this collection.

My inspiration for the Winter Frost Collection came from a photograph I found in a gardening magazine. It was of yew berries on a yew tree covered in sparkling silvery white frost.














The colours were exquisite and I found myself putting together a collection of materials and wools that worked well with the theme. I love blues and Winter Frost has been a pleasure to create.

In this group of Sashas are: Sasha (1968 Frido fringe girl); Katie (late 60's Kilt girl); Esther (my brunette version Gotz toddler).


Sasha is wearing an elegant outfit. Her party dress is made using a fine floral cotton fabric and features a tiered skirt.

I thought the longer style shaped jacket looked elegant with the belt.

She is wearing matching pants and little white socks with navy leather boneka shoes.


Beside Sasha is my little brunette Esther. When I bought her her hair had already been coloured but in night light it looked salmon pink instead of ginger so I took the plunge and coloured her hair again.

Her smock is made using the same lovely bamboo sock yarn as Sasha's jacket. It is a new toddler outfit and the smock features a pretty textural bramble pattern and little turned up cuffs.

Her trousers are made using the same floral fabric as the dress sasha is wearing.

I completed the outfit with little shetland wool lace weight bootees tied with I-cord made from the same wool as her smock.

Sasha's knitted jacket is made using a beautiful bamboo sock yarn which has a fabulous sheen and drape when knitted with a lovely silky feel.

The colour of this outfit draws out the blue tones in her eyes.
I love this outfit on Katie.

The drop waist dress has a gathered skirt, v-neck and the short sleeves have a little pleat at the cuff. I matched the buttons to the beautiful green colour of the leaves. The buttons took a while to find but are really gorgeous.

The blue lace weight shetland wool cardigan has a v-neck style that fits perfectly beneath the collar of her dress. The blue is exactly the same colour as the blue flower on her floral dress and her blue shoes.

Her socks were knit using natural white lace weight shetland wool with a fine blue stripe.

As usual her pants match her dress fabric.

The Sashas models in this group are: Annette (Gotz Sasha and sister to Anna); Maya (blonde Sasha from 1970 with eyes repainted by me); Pippa (a lovely early 70's brunette Sasha who had developed falling hair and was rewigged by me to look like a brown eyed version of my sister).

Maya is wearing a beautiful outfit that I think looks really cute on her.


Her cardigan is hand knit using a pretty sky blue lace weight shetland wool. Yet again the buttons were hard to find. I kept looking for the right size and colour everywhere I went.

Her blouse is made using a pretty dainty rose bud pattern cotton fabric which fastens at the back.
The buttons I chose are really cute little sky blue flower shaped ones. Very dainty. In this style of cardigan, I think the design of the buttons are a really important feature.


Her hair is tied back with an I-cord hair tie knitted in the same lace weight shetland wool as her cardigan.


Annette is wearing a cute outfit. Her waistcoat is hand knit using 4ply hand dyed wool. Its colours coordinate beautifully with the colour of the blue flowers on her dress. The waistcoat buttons at the front with pretty grey pearly buttons and features a lacey pattern on the front.


Her dress has a gathered skirt with a narrow pleat just above the hemline.


The bodice is fully lined. The sleeves are puffed with a little cuff and she has a contrasting colour of blue for the collar.


Her pants match her dress. The outfit is finished with white ankle socks and navy blue leather boneka shoes.


A truly beautiful outfit.


Pippa is modelling my favourite outfit from this collection. It is a beautiful v-neck jacket knitted in 2ply sweater weight shetland wool. The jacket is in the main striped with little speckles of contrasting colour in some of the stripes.


I loved the dark blue buttons which have a couple of tones in them.


She has a crew neck short sleeved sweater on underneath her jacket. It is knit using a lovely blue and dark green sock wool, (the same wool as I used for the background of the sweater with the white horses).


Her trousers are denim bootleg style. Her outfit is finished with hand knit socks made from the same sock wool as her short sleeved top. She has little track shoes to finish the outfit.


Isn't Pippa just the cutest doll?


I so love the look of this wig on her with the beautiful little fine curls.

The models in this group are: Michael (Gotz boy scout); Bethany (a one of a kind Kelly Wenarsky repaint); Elke (Gotz toddler sister to Anna and Annette).


I love these two outfits photographed together. Michael and Elke look so cute together.

Michael's sweater and hat are knitted using a lovely wool/cotton sock yarn. It has a lovely tweedy fleck in it.

His trousers are made from a lovely mid-blue denim and are straight leg with pockets. He has white socks and dollfie track shoes with denim blue stripes on the side.

Autumn Landscape Collection for Sasha, Grego, Toddler and Babies.

The Landscape in Autumn is mesmerising. I love to walk on the Cavehill in the early morning with the shadowy shapes of the trees shrouded in mist.

High on the heathland the grasses take on rusty hues. The autumn colours glow against the blues and stormy greys of the Autumn sky. The inspiration for this collection of outfits came from the image I found of a tree in late Autumn on a hillside much like my beloved and much walked Cavehill.

The models used in this group are:

Amelia (a one of a kind Wenarsky repaint); Poppy (a Frido dungarees girl from 1968); John (early baby boy); Rowena (a limited edition trendon Kiltie).
I had great pleasure collecting the materials and wools for this collection. The colours were wonderful to work with.

Amelia is wearing a cute outfit hand knitted using two different sock wools. I loved the combination of the smudgy looking sock wools with the tie dyed rusty toned needlecord.
She is wearing socks knitted using lace weight shetland wool and beautiful brown leather boneka shoes.


I loved the control of the striped pattern contrasting with the random patterning on her trousers.

Amelia is a beautiful one of a kind girl created by Kelly Wenarsky. She has beautiful hazel eyes with hints of green.



Poppy is wearing a beautiful traditional style dress in a pretty cotton fabric. It has an upright collar and fine cuffs.

The slip and pantalettes are a beautiful contrasting colour picking up the main colour in the dress perfectly.

She is wearing ivory socks hand knit using lace weight shetland wool and beautiful cream leather old style laced boneka boots.


I love the early girls wearing their hair in plaits. It always looks so cute.


John my handsome early baby Gregor is wearing one of my new designs for this collection.

I used two wools in this outfit. The same patterned rusty coloured sock wool used in the outfit below and a lovely warm toned cream wool. They were used to great effect to knit the striped hat and footed trousers.

He has a beautiful cuddly Steiff polar bear which coordinates perfectly with his outfit.


John has the most amazing dark brown eyes.

His aran sweater features cabling on the front and sleeves. It fastens with 3 buttons on the back.

The outfit is finished with a lovely little ribbed scarf.

This outfit is just too cute for words.


This coat pattern has been a work in progress for a while. I really like how it has turned out and it is very cute made in the space dyed sock wool.

I wanted the fairisle top underneath to be fine and light and to pick up the colours in the coat without being the same. The blue worked as a good contrast. The oatmeal background makes the top look summery. I used lace weight shetland wool for this top.

In the end, I teamed this outfit with bootleg style denim trousers, as I loved how it brought out the blue pattern in the fairisle top.

Her socks are oatmeal coloured lace weight shetland wool and she wears boneka brown leather sandals.

Rowena, my beautiful LE Kiltie, suits these colours perfectly.

She has the loveliest light auburn hair and clear blue/grey eyes.

Ruth is modelling another of my new creations for this collection.

She is wearing a very fine fairisle sweater hand knitted using shetland lace weight wool. The colours are beautiful, a combination of the natural shetland sheep shades of wool with the addition of blue and green. An exquisite sweater.

I thought the very dark chocolate finewale corduroy looked lovely with the sweater picking up the dark brown shade of wool.

Her socks are knit using lace weight shetland wool in the light grey colour with an accent of dark brown. She is wearing the lovely dollfie t-bar sandals.

I used one of the lovely natural shetland sheep wool colours for her hat and scarf.

I saw a beautiful cable scarf in Belfast when I was wandering around the shops window shopping and thought it would be perfect for this outfit. I liked the idea of one strong cable running along the centre of the scarf. The hat also has cabling with a garter stitch edge. I thought it would be fun to make the pompom using lots of the colours used to knit the fairisle sweater.

This is a fabulous outfit and looks wonderful on Ruth who has very dark puddle eyes and dates from the early 70's.

Mathew is wearing a lovely boys outfit.

He has a cute sweater and beanie hat knit using a tweed self striping sock wool. The colours really suit his dark colouring.

The trousers were made using a mid-tone denim, are a straight leg style with pockets.

He has white socks and dollfie track shoes with denim blue stripes on the sides.

His scarf was knitted using the dark brown tweed sock wool. I was really tempted to put a dark brown pompom on the hat but then, I decided that it was more boyish left as a little plain beanie shape.

Mathew is a gregor from 1968 and has the loveliest dark brown eyes with loads of hand finishing.

Esther is wearing another new style outfit. She has a pair of sage green dungarees with a contrast cotton leaf print fabric as an edge on the trouser and for the pocket on the front of the dungarees and the lining on the inside of the dungarees.

She has finely knitted boots which were inspired by Elizabeth Zimmerman's Lapland boots.

Her hooded jacket was knitted using the same lovely space dyed sock yarn. The jacket has a cable and double moss stitch pattern on the front, back and sleeves. It has cute little pockets and a double moss stitch hood. The textured buttons match the colour of the corduroy used for the dungarees.

The blonde and blue eyed Esther (Gotz toddler) looks really cute in this lovely cosy outfit.

Finally, I have Sophie wearing a lovely warm outfit for the cool Autumn days.

She is wearing a hat, sweater and bag all made using the same self striping sock wool. Although the stripes are not knit as they would have come on the ball. I changed them to suit the style of the outfit which allowed me to use the wool in a fairisle pattern on the bag.

Her skirt was made using a lovely mink coloured finewale corduroy which tones beautifully with the knitwear.

After a lot of searching, I finally, found a pair of childrens tights in the same colour as the skirt from which I was able to make her tights. Her shoes are commercially made brown loafers from Antina's Doll Supply.
Sophie came to me with enhanced eyes but after a while, I decided I would like to try repainting them myself, so I carefully took off the original enhancement and painted her eyes using very fine brushes and acrylic paint. I love they way they turned out. I adore the natural looking style of eye painting on the early Sasha dolls and some of the one of a kind repaint dolls.
