White Horses

I knit a similar sweater to this last year. I really liked the pattern and the look of the horses against the dark blues and teals.

I changed the pattern this time to have raglan sleeves.

I am going to try this sweater using the Noro sock yarn that I used for the tunic sweater in Aqua and Grey. I think it would look beautiful with the white horses. Also have a lovely sock yarn in pale blues and sand colours and it might work well with it as well.


Haven't decided what I will make to go with this outfit. Probably a hat and possibly socks...

Mellow yellow and sage

The yellow fingering weight wool was perfect for finishing off this outfit. I used it as a contrast for the I-cord loops on the hat and also for the mittens and the socks.

A very sweet looking outfit that looks gorgeous on Miriam my early 70's blonde Sasha girl.

I just love these colours on my blonde Sasha.

So pretty and delicate.

I made the duffle coat from a lovely finewale corduroy in mellow yellow.

The sweater was knitted using a beautiful new sock yarn which contains bamboo. It is a really nice yarn to knit with and has a lovely sheen.

Her trousers were made using a sage green finewale corduroy which is the perfect shade to match the sweater.

I love this outfit.

I think it needs socks though...

So exciting, yesterday I found the perfect mellow yellow wool that matches the duffle coat. I had been looking for a wool that either matched the duffle or the trousers. Without success until yesterday!

Dark Red and Beige

Norwegian knitwear had been very influential. I love the patterns and the styles of the knitwear.

This sweater has just been finished. It has drop shoulders and an overall design. As I knew the pattern would be quite busy I decided to use just two contrasting colours which is very typical of Norwegian knitting.

The dark red and beige work beautifully together.

Not sure about what to accessorise this outfit with yet. I don't want the outfit to become too fussy.

New style in Bramble Stitch

I opened my new knitting magazine last week and just loved the bramble stitch so I decided to try making one of the modern cardigans which fastens with one press stud at the neck and the front opens to show the colour of the top below.

I had wondered what to do with this brightly coloured sock wool for some time and loved the way the colours worked on the textured pattern.

Her vest top is knitted using a 2 ply lace weight shetland wool and looks beautiful underneath the jacket.

I wanted the vest top and the denim trousers to be a back drop to the colourful jacket.

Haven't decided what else this outfit needs to complete it.

Blue with lime

Some colours just seem to work together!

I love the shade of this zesty lime wool with the denim blue coloured wool.


One of my passions is fairisle. It is such fun to knit and I love seeing how the pattern is working out.

I have jsut finished the socks for this outfit and it is ready to photograph for the website on the first fine morning that we get. So much rain at the moment. Showers today, light rain tomorrow and heavy rain for Friday!

One for me!

I don't keep very many of my outfits but every so often one just appeals to me. This is one of them.

I love the denim colours in the sock yarn and the ivory alpaca that I used for the contrast. It took me a long time to find buttons for this jacket and in the end I found these on a blouse in a charity shop and just knew they were perfect!

It is very pretty over the short sleeved ivory blouse and teamed with the denim trousers.

Reds and golds

I love Kaffe Fassetts use of colour in his knitwear designs and own many of his books which I just love browsing through.

I thought it would be fun to try a Kaffe style sweater using the sock yarns. This sweater is beautiful and knit using a fair isle pattern.

At the moment it is teamed with a pair of trousers in dark red tweed but it also looks stunning with the mellow yellow finewale cord. I haven't made trousers in this colour yet.

Haven't decided on the accessories to go with this sweater yet.
