Frosty Winter Browns

Although this outfit was made and sold a few months ago, I thought it would be interesting to show a photograph of the finished outfit
with my inspiration for the outfit.
When I was out for a walk on the Cavehill on a frosty winter morning, I photographed the dead autumn leaves covered in frost. I really liked the colours in the photograph.
I looked through my lace weight shetland wool choosing colours that reminded me of my photograph.
Although my initial samples featured the silvery grey of the frost, I found myself focusing on the earthy brown and russet shades of the leaves.

New hooded coat

This coat pattern has been a work in progress for a while. I really like how it has turned out and it is very cute in the space dyed sock wool.

I wanted the fairisle top underneath to be fine and light and to pick up the colours in the coat without being the same. The blue worked as a good contrast. The oatmeal background makes the top look summery. I used lace weight shetland wool for this top.

I am not sure about the brown trousers though. They look nice with the duffle but maybe a bit dark with the top. The top actually looks very cute with denim. Would have liked corduroy in the same colour as the oatmeal but the corduroy that I have is too light in colour.

I am planning fairisle socks to go with this outfit.
